Prep for the New Baby has Officially Begun

We have finally started getting the room ready for the
special new addition to the family who will be arriving in December.
There's still a lot of work to do, but nothing that will take too long.
We can't paint the room and we will be moving before the little one is a year old
so we aren't going too crazy, but it's definitely going to be cute and very fitting.
It's just a matter of getting things ordered and then waiting for them to arrive.

Getting the room together is so much more entertaining
with an extra set of little hands getting into everything.
Emma Claire was Daddy's special helper while he was putting the crib together.
I don't think he could have managed without her.

Dear New Baby,

Momma is so excited for you to make your big debut in just a few short months.
It doesn't seem possible that you have already been bouncing around in my belly for 7 months.
Part of me wants these last ten weeks of having you tucked safely inside me to go by slowly,
but another part of me wants them to go by in the blink of an eye.
I love knowing that I am giving you a safe place to grow.
I love feeling your every kick, flip, and turn and
I love watching my belly rattle and roll as you make all those movements.
I love catching myself rubbing my belly when I'm not even aware that I'm doing it.
I guess that just shows me that even though I might be doing a hundred other things,
I will never be too busy to love, nurture, and comfort you.
I love thinking about what you will look like and who you will favor.
I love all of these things which is why it's hard for me to think about
this part of our journey together coming to an end, but at the same time
I cannot wait for the next part of our journey to begin.
Will that moment when I first see you, hear you, hold you, and kiss you
be before or after your due date, December 9th?
Momma and Daddy kind of have a feeling it's going to be before.
If that is the case, please don't make it too early.
You need to stay in your warm and cozy home for as long as possible
so you can get big and strong and be ready to play with all your big sisters.
There's a lot of love waiting out here for you
and I'm so excited to watch you take it all in and begin to love back.

Always and forever.
Love,
Momma

P.S.
Last night your Daddy and I were laying in bed watching a movie and I had
you pressed up against his side so he could feel you moving.
You must have liked being snuggled up with Momma and Daddy
because you were bouncing around like crazy.
Your Daddy said you were beating him up with some good shots to the ribs.
Keep up the good work!

  1. Looks like Emma was a big helper, the crib looks great! I don't think it would have come out as nice if she didn't help.

You letter to your new baby is so full of love and beautifully written. I know I have told you this before, but your children as so blessed to have you for a mother. I can't wait to meet my new grandbaby that is safely tucked away in your loving cacoon.

And Daddy's little helper is precious too! Love the chunky little legs and the pony tail on top of her head!
